Farewell flowers - funeral and sympathy.

I offer bespoke funeral and sympathy designs that reflect your loved
one’s preferences, the seasons, the countryside and are a world away
from standard off-the-shelf tributes. Funeral flowers that are individual, uplifting and a celebration of life through flowers.

Bryony Mae Flowers - Sussex florist.

I understand that losing a loved one is an incredibly difficult time and will ensure that ordering a floral tribute from Bryony Mae Flowers is as simple and stress-free as possible. I can take your order via email, over the phone or even have an in-person consulatation - as you wish. I will speak with the funeral directors about delivery logistics and other details as well as deliver the flowers myself so once you’ve ordered, it’s one less thing to worry about.

My floristry style is natural, loose, a little bit wild and relaxed in look and feel, nothing too structured or formal. Any personal touches to funeral flowers are always welcome, for example, the inclusion of a favourite or meaningful flower, colour preferences or even flowers from your loved ones garden. Every commission is unique to the person that is being remembered and aim to reflect their passions and personality.

I use the best quality seasonal flowers from my trusted wholesalers as well as local Sussex grown flowers, when available during the British growing season. I am lucky to be surrounded by a number of growers and flower farms near Hassocks and the surrounding villages of Ditchling, Hurstpierpoint, Henfield and Cuckfield.

I specialise in eco-friendly funeral flowers that are made without plastic, wire or floral foam and will naturally degrade back into the earth. Gentle on the planet and a necessity for a natural burial like at Clayton Wood which is located only a few minutes from my studio in Hassocks. I am a member of The Farewell Flowers Directory, a directory designed to connect customers looking for alternative funeral flowers with UK independent florists offering sustainable options.

  • "The flowers turned out even more beautiful than we expected. Bryony was so caring and thoughtful at every step and she went above and beyond to make a difficult experience easier for us."

  • "Bryony created the most thoughtful and creative floral arrangements for my father’s funeral. We were looking for something simple yet elegant—letters spelling DAD, a small sheaf, and a heart. Bryony took the time to truly understand what we had envisioned and crafted the most beautiful, eco-friendly pieces that felt both meaningful and full of life. Her spring-like creations were simply perfect, and I’m so grateful for her talent and care during such an important and difficult time."

  • "The flowers were wonderful, the best funeral flowers I've ever seen. I have brought them home to admire them for the next few days."

  • "Bryony made the most beautiful tribute for a family member who loved her flowers and garden. I would recommend Bryony to anyone who needs flowers at this time because she is so warm and friendly but also so professional. You know this part is left in very safe hands, to know that not only will the flowers be beautiful but also that they would be looked right up to delivery."

  • “Absolutely brilliant - Bryony was receptive, sensitive and very accommodating of our wishes to include flowers from mum’s own garden. The casket flowers were breathtaking, so wonderfully fresh and natural. She supplied a beautiful wreath too - again, subtle and full of natural feel - and a gentle spray of roses and delphiniums. Everything was delivered without any fuss - everything was perfect. We can’t thank her enough.”
