I understand that losing a loved one is an incredibly difficult time and will ensure that ordering a floral tribute from Bryony Mae Flowers is as simple and stress-free as possible. I can take your order via email, over the phone or even have an in-person consulatation - as you wish. I will speak with the funeral directors about delivery logistics and other details as well as deliver the flowers myself so once you’ve ordered, it’s one less thing to worry about.

My floristry style is natural, loose, a little bit wild and relaxed in look and feel, nothing too structured or formal. Any personal touches to funeral flowers are always welcome, for example, the inclusion of a favourite or meaningful flower, colour preferences or even flowers from your loved ones garden. Every commission is unique to the person that is being remembered and aim to reflect their passions and personality.

I use the best quality seasonal flowers from my trusted wholesalers as well as local Sussex grown flowers, when available during the British growing season. I am lucky to be surrounded by a number of growers and flower farms near Hassocks and the surrounding villages of Ditchling, Hurstpierpoint, Henfield and Cuckfield.

I specialise in eco-friendly funeral flowers that are made without plastic, wire or floral foam and will naturally degrade back into the earth. Gentle on the planet and a necessity for a natural burial like at Clayton Wood which is located only a few minutes from my studio in Hassocks.   • I provide a truly personal service to say goodbye your loved one. Every design is unique to the person it is honouring, there are no off-the-shelf standard designs. I welcome any personal requests - favourite or meaningful flowers, colours or if you’d like to include flowers from your own garden or your loved ones that is also possible.

    I believe in funeral flowers that are gentle on the planet and source as many flowers grown in Sussex as I can; supporting other local businesses and using predominately seasonal pesticide-free flowers with a low carbon footprint.

    I am also a ‘foam free’ florist* and as a result do not offer the traditional funeral letters. I have created an alternative though made of twigs, moss and string as do appreciate the wish to honour these connections. Please ask to see examples.

    *Foral foam is a toxic micro plastic which is unarguably harmful to the environment, doesn’t degrade for many years and can even harm wildlife prone to nibble flowers left in a burial ground. If you are interested, you can read more about the floral foam issue here.

  • Yes, I will liaise with your funeral director on logistics and personally delivery all tributes on time and in perfect condition so once you order, it’s one less thing to think about.

    Delivery is free in Hassocks, Hurstpierpoint and Burgess Hill. I will also deliver to other areas i.e. Brighton, Crawley, Lewes for a small extra fee to cover my time and expenses.

My studio is in Hassocks, a village in West Sussex and a few minutes from Clayton Wood Natural Burial Ground, Bowley Funeral Directors, Burgess Hill Family Funerals, P & S Gallagher and Freeman Brothers. I have also supplied flowers to Arka Original Funerals in Brighton who specialise in green funerals.
